This 1,106-mile paved route starts in Wytheville, Virginia, and follows some of the best backroads in the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and George. Highlights include Back of the Dragon (VA SR-16), The Snake (U.S. 421), The Rattler (NC SR-209), Foothill Parkway, Tail of the Dragon (U.S. 129), Moonshiner 28 (NC SR-28), the Georgia Triangle (SR-180, SR-60, U.S. 19), and Blue Ridge Parkway.
