Aberdeen Loop OHV Trail
Aberdeen Loop Trail is an approximately 8.2 mile off-road loop route located southwest of Gunnison, Colorado. Beginning and ending at the intersection of Powerline Road and Aberdeen Loop East/West, the route follows a dirt single track, dirt/rock surface to the southwest and through the southern reaches of the Hartman Rocks Recreation Area before forming a counter-clockwise loop back to its starting point at Powerline Road. Located in a nearly treeless region, Aberdeen Loop Trail provides riders with expansive, panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges and peaks. In terms of difficulty the route is rated as “Easy-Moderate”. Due to the terrain involved, it is recommended that only motorcycles with adequate off-road capability attempt this trail. Aberdeen Loop Trail is a seasonally restricted route, and may become impassable to wheeled vehicles during the winter months. Please note that Aberdeen Loop Trail, along with all other trails in the Hartman Rocks Recreation Area, are closed to motorized and mechanized vehicles from March 15 to May 15. It is recommended to check current conditions with the local USFS district office prior to taking on this route. All vehicles must remain on designated roads and trails.
